My passion is working with children, youth, and parents to create a harmonious home environment which instills confidence and calm. I genuinely believe “kids do well if they can” and know first-hand how challenging parenting can be. We do not need to tackle difficult developmental stages alone!
We all face hurdles in life, and I believe individuals possess an inner wisdom which helps to overcome these obstacles. I strive to create a setting where therapy can be fun and empowering as we work together to discover this inner wisdom. My goal is to foster a judgement free environment, enhancing opportunities to reflect, be heard, and develop skills to achieve confidence and competence, extending beyond the therapeutic setting.
I practice from a collaborative, client-centred and trauma informed approach, drawing on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Skills Training, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and play-based techniques to support individuals with a range of presenting emotional, behavioural, or relational concerns.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO, I also hold a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Bachelor of Education from York University. I have spent the last 15 years providing support to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in various capacities through school, the community, and post-secondary settings.
