My name is Carly Greco. I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Toronto and am a Registered Social Worker with more than 10 years of experience in psychotherapy and case management.
I have adopted an integrative approach to therapy, in which I draw from a Strengths-Based Perspective, and use Narrative, Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Each of us is a unique person, which is why I modify my sessions to meet the needs of the individual.
One of my special interests and certifications is in Maternal Mental Health. I have completed certification in Maternal Mental Health, as well as Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy training. Having personally experienced a traumatic birth, it is my passion to support other parents and families who are facing difficulties or trauma related to pre- or postpartum experiences. Parenthood can often feel lonely and isolating, but with the right coping strategies and supports, it can also be rewarding and exciting.
Additional special interests of mine include supporting those who identify with anxiety and/or depressive symptoms, the aging population and/or life transitions, work place issues, and parenting struggles.
We have all had times in our lives where we have struggled. I believe with the right support and guidance, I can help you to identify negative thought patterns and/or roadblocks you are facing in order for you to challenge them. One of my goals as a psychotherapist is to be present with you, and to support you in overcoming obstacles so that you can begin to feel more in control of your feelings and reactions toward your life experiences.
